On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha on Thursday (June 29), Uddipan distributed meat among 1,000 marginalized people in different districts of the country. The project was implemented with funding from Muslim Aid UK and USA.
Concerned UNO and public representatives were present as chief guests during the distribution of meat among the poor and helpless people.
Also present were Uddipan Head Office Director (Field Operations and Management) Md Sagir Hossain, Assistant Director Zonal Manager, Social Development Program Deputy Manager Roshan Jannat Rusni, Public Relations and Media Officer Proshanto Das Kotha and Uddipan Branch Manager and other members.
Natasha Israt Kabir, program manager of Lively Hood of Muslim Aid Bangladesh, said that the meat has been distributed in different districts and upazilas of the country to serve the poor, distressed and helpless. Appreciates incentives for distribution of meat to needy and poor families and selection of proper beneficiaries with transparency and distribution of quality, quantity of meat.
Uddipan Director (Field Operations and Management) Md Sagir Hoson said that Uddipan is working with marginalized people across Bangladesh. Muslim Aid’s funding stimulus has been transparently implemented. This meat is being distributed among the poor and underprivileged people in different districts and upazilas across Bangladesh.
After receiving the sacrificial meat of the underprivileged people, he said – We have not eaten meat for a long time, today we will eat rice to fill our stomach with meat.
After listening to these deprived people, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer said that the rich people of the society like Uddipan should come forward to helping. We Bengalis feel more comfortable saying Qurbani Eid. The word Qurbani means sacrifice for Almighty. That is, this sacrifice is for the purpose of gaining closeness to Allah Ta’ala. At the same time, he appreciated the incentives for transparent selection of the right beneficiaries and distribution of quality and standard food.
