6th non-fiction book fair begins on Dec 26 at DU

The sixth edition of non-fiction book fair will begin at Dhaka university campus on December 26.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman will inaugurate the book fair at the premises of university’s Business Faculty, organizers told a press conference today here.

The three-day book fair will start at 10 am on December 26 and will conclude on December 28. Faculty of Business Studies of Dhaka University and Bonik Barta will organize the fair.

The fair will be opened for the visitors from 10 am to 8 pm each day, where the buyers will be able to buy books at maximum 30% commission rate.

In the fair ground, a total of 39 publications and research agencies have been approved to set up their stalls featuring non-fiction books.

Business faculty dean Prof. Mohammad Abdul Moyeen, convener of the fair and associate editor of Bonik Barta M M Musa, Bonik Barta news editor Hossen Shahid Majnu and chief reporter Badrul Alam, among others, were present in the press conference.

This year, fair arrangement committee has decided to introduce an award named ‘Non-fiction book of year award’ aiming to encourage the writers.

Besides, there will be arrangements for photo contest and raffle draw for the visitors, the organizers said.
