Food items distributed among poor and needy people by Uddipan

Uddipan has distributed food items to poor and needy people on the occasion of Ramadan. Muslim Aid UK funded stimulus to implement Bangladesh Ramadan Food Program 2023.

These were distributed among marginalized communities in Fultala upazila of Khulna district on Tuesday. The food items included rice, pulses, oil, chickpeas, dates, noodles, onions, salt, muri, potatoes along with Iftar and Sahri items.

Fultala Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Khoshnoor Rabiat was present as the chief guest during the distribution of food items among the needy people, special guests were Upazila Land Officer Md Yusup, Officer-in-charge (Fultala Police Station) Mohammad Abdul Haque, Upazila Social Service Officer Md Shahin Alam, SM Mostafizur. Rahman President Fultala Press Club and 1, 2, 3, No. Jamira Union Parishad Women Member Shahida Islam Nayan, Journalist of Daily Diganta and Daily Pratidin Katha and member of Fultala Press Club SM Mominur Rahman were also present, Ferdowsi Begum of Uddipan Head Office Senior Assistant Director Social Development Programme, Md Mizanur Rahman Assistant Director Zonal Manager, Md Emdad Hossain Deputy Manager Finance and Accounts, Deputy Manager Roshan Jannat Rusni Social Development Programme, Regional Manager Bappi Kumar Nandi, Branch Manager of Uddipan and other members.

Md. Waliullah, the coordinator of Muslim Aid Bangladesh’s education program, said that this food aid has been provided in different districts of the country to serve the poor, needy and helpless. Besides, provision of education is being made to poor students in educational institutions. These activities are ongoing. Ramadan Family Package and Iftar items are distributed among needy and poor families and appreciates the incentive for proper beneficiary selection and distribution of quality food with transparency.

Uddipan activist Ferdausi Begum said that Uddipan is working with marginalized people all over Bangladesh and this food is being delivered to the poor and underprivileged in different prison upazilas in this month of Ramadan. Many people cry after receiving the food items of the underprivileged people and say that we will be able to eat our fill for the next month, we will be able to fast and break fast properly.

After listening to the benefited people, the UNO said, Uddipan works with marginalized groups, so if they have a list of deprived people and provide it to me, it will be included in the various ongoing programs of the government. At the same time lauded the stimulus for transparent selection of right beneficiaries and distribution of quality food. The UNO added that there is nothing more happy than if one day’s food can be given to hungry people. We strive to deliver government services to common people. Besides, the stimulus plans to implement various long-term schemes for the welfare of the distressed and helpless humanity.

Uddipan is a service oriented, non-profit and non-political organization of the country. Various projects are implemented in remote areas of the country.
